Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police stated they were contacted by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The substance had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared cars and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state preliminary tests indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for information.

A senior political figure commented the vandalism left him without words and needed to be resolved quickly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the killing of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
